Porting – What is it, can I do it?
Most residential mortgages can be “ported” or moved, essentially this is taking the mortgage on your current home to your new home, the lender will then also allow you to borrow further funds based on your financial position now! This can often be the most cost-effective way to move home and save you paying those dreaded early redemption charges (ERC’s!).
We’ll assess your position and advise you on whether staying with your current lender is best for you or moving away to save money over the term of your new mortgage, either way, we’ll get you moving.
